I just wanted to thank you for this blog. As someone who has never played Eve, I am really enjoying the look into the Eve universe.

It's good stuff, though! I've nominated you for the blog pack that CK is revamping. The quality of stuff is great, all you need to do is keep up the posting consistency, which you've been doing wonderfully!

Thanks! I really appreciate your kind words. I'm a big fan of your work (both in game and on your blog), and I'm glad you discovered my site. It's only been around for a month and a half, so it's really more surprising you found it at all. :D

I'm not too familiar with MH or the situation in the west. I believe the stations that Evoke has in Cloud Ring were taken months ago, and to my knowledge there hasn't been an effort to take them back though I don't know why not. It seems like would want to use a break in the attacks on us to clear them out - the last thing we need in a real war is them and Cry Havoc being added to an actual military threat - but the people in charge probably know better than me.

Your point about victory being amorphous is entirely true. I tend to consider 'winning' to be holding our space because I'm a player-sov 0.0 dweller; on the other hand, we did lose a titan (not to mention Geminate -- whether the eastern front should be considered a separate conflict is questionable). For an alliance like Tri that doesn't actually hold space the famous "moving goalposts" of objectives that people tend to give, in decreasing order depending on how well or poorly they did -- holding the field, positive isk ratio, accomplishing strategic objectives, and having goodfights -- are all valid goals.

I somehow just discovered your blog--although null sec politics often makes my eyes glaze over, you--like Wensley--have a knack for making it interesting from an individual pilot's perspective. So, I linked you on my blogroll and mentioned your blog in my most recent post.

Yeah, definitely looks more like victory than not, but MH still lost a bunch of territory in PB, didn't they? It's not a TRI region now, either, but maybe wasn't 100% a success either? I think my larger point is that there isn't a dialog box that pops up and says "YOU WIN" - victory and defeat are kind of amorphous concepts, and are defined (differently) by the parties involved. It's always funny to read other alliance's smack talk / propaganda because from my lowly perspective, it's hard to tell the difference between what my people are saying and what they're saying.

It does sound like we'll be doing more tower-tearing-down, but I also see a lot more standing fleets for ratting and mining than ever before. There's much less intensity to it than when we were in PB.

Well, our enemies ran back to empire and we retook all our assets so I would consider that a win. It's a shame we didn't get to kill a bunch of enemy supercapitals or anything, but if they don't want to play there's not much we can do about it.

As a Razor member my understanding is that moving to Tribute was a redeployment in order to tear down enemy towers in Venal and Black Rise, rather than any sort of disengagement; I know I have spent a vast amount of time shooting towers in the weeks since we've come here, though things have slowed down lately.
